What's for supper?

Each day has a new twist and turn, but there a few constant and unwaivering aspects of my daily life. I can always, without a doubt, know I'll have to drag the kid (literally, at times) out of bed on a weekday. I also know that he won't get dressed, eat, brush his teeth, etc with out my nagging prompting. Then, there's the curve ball. "What's for supper?" "What are we having tonight?" "What is for dinner?" and my favorite, "Mom, I'm STARVING." If you have a drama king or queen in your house like me, then the latter is ringing in your head with the utmost emphasis on "starving." But, what is for dinner? Why on earth is supper so allusive. It's not like it is a surprising event or anything.

Honestly, each day I plan out 5 out of my 6 meals. I usually have oats at breakfast and I pack my 2 snacks and lunch for work. That is so easy, to me. But, when I start thinking about what to have for supper, I'm stumped. For example, last night I had some Glutino pretzels and peanut butter for supper. Oh, and wine. I had wine, too. :) I was just so tired and threw together whatever quick protein and carb I could. It's not always being tired, sometimes I simply have no idea of what I want to eat. Those tend to be days that I have breakfast for supper. I love breakfast foods!

Let's face it, I love grocery shopping. When I get groceries, I plan out my meals for the week. I tend to be consistent and I try to stick to my list. I feel like I am prepared to conquer the week with all of the goodies that I've stocked up on! Then when it comes down to it, sometimes I just don't want to cook that spaghetti squash. All of that brings me to where I am, today. I am thinking about the spaghetti squash I bought a couple of weeks ago, that desperately needs to be cooked. Thankfully, spaghetti squash keeps for a long time. I guess tomorrow we will see what I conjured up. Or we will see if I had a lazy night. :)
